A joint event with Mass Audobon's Sanctuary Director Ian Ives & Friends of Barnstable Harbor's President Ted Theodores. Date, Time & Details to come.
SUBJECT: RENDEZVOUS CREEK CLEAN-UP DAY
Friends of Barnstable Harbor, Inc. invites its Members and the general public to participate in its first Rendezvous Creek Clean-Up Day, Sunday June 13, 9:00 AM, meeting behind the Dolphin Restaurant, rain or shine.
Rendezvous Creek divides Salten and Freezer Points, and borders on the Village Business District behind the Barnstable Tavern, General Store, Village Landing, Post Office and Dolphin Restaurant. It offers an attractive scenic vista and is an environmentally and historically important estuary of Barnstable Harbor.
Through many years of surface run-off, Rendezvous Creek has become overgrown with invasive species and cluttered with refuse. The Friends of Barnstable Harbor is pursuing formal designation as a Steward of Rendezvous Creek, and this first clean-up event is the beginning of a longer-range vision to beautify the Creek, improve its long term environmental condition and restore this important local asset to a condition which will encourage public access.
Friends of Barnstable Harbor, Inc. is a community-based 501(C)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of Barnstable Harbor, a rare and wonderful natural asset.
We look forward to an enjoyable and worthy community event.
