His interest in art began at an early age, and continued as he worked his way through engineering school as a technical draftsman and catalog illustrator, enjoying an occasional session with paints.
He is now inspired by capturing familiar and memorable Cape Cod scenes, and floral still-lifes, in glowing, impressionist watercolors and brilliant realistic oils.
His work has been influenced by several accomplished artists and teachers whose art he greatly admires. They include Sam Barber, William Ternes, Charles Reid, Paul George, Arnold Desmarais, Audrey Forge, William Maloney, Hillary Osborn, Christie Velesig, John Kilroy, and Robert Mesrop.
He is an Artist Member and former Vice President and Director of Development at the Cape Cod Art Association and is also a Member of the Rockport Art Association, the Lyme Art Association, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and Arts Wayland, where he exhibits his work.
Ted introduces many of his new works in a standing exhibit at the Dolphin Restaurant in Barnstable Village, a favorite traditional Cape Cod dining establishment. He also welcomes students and visitors who wish to see his work, to his gallery and studio by appointment. |
